How it all began …
Astares is an independent menswear company based in Havant, Hampshire.
The company was founded in 2015 by Jez and Ruth. The couple dreamed of running a business that prized genuinely outstanding customer experience and fantastic products, so that’s what they did!
The company began in a small sublet room in Chichester, while both Jez and Ruth juggled full time employment with fueling their dream business. Originally showcasing a very small selection of mens hire wear, nobody could have anticipated just how fast the business would grow! But, thanks to the support of some wonderful customers, friends and family Astares snowballed, reviews flooded in and before they knew it, Jez and Ruth were throwing themselves into the business full time.
Havant, here we come!
A little over a year later in 2016 Astares was ready to find its own shop – what a milestone! Jez and Ruth visited a shell of a unit in East Street, Havant. Ruth immediately saw its potential. With her natural flair for colour and design, their dream shop became a beautiful reality.
Chapter three.
in 2019 Jez and Ruth realised they needed more space. They decided to take on a huge job of relocating their shop to a bigger, better premises. Fortunately, they didn’t have to move far, literally just around the corner to South street!
Chapter four …
In 2023 Jez and Ruth finally introduced business and smart casual wear to their online store to accommodate the more everyday. This is an exiting new venture which will expand and develop in the coming months and years.
Today, Astares stays true to its original vision. It continues to offer an ever-expanding range of menswear for purchase, along with exceptional customer service.
Astares has become the local leader in Menswear and a respected brand across Hampshire and Sussex.
