Tell us a little about yourself…

I’m one of the company directors of Astares menswear. I am “front of house” as you will usually meet with myself for your consultation and fitting appointments. My background is public services, which I did for nearly fourteen years. I founded Astares back in 2015 and have been building it up over the last few years. I am incredibly dedicated – not to mention proud – of the total customer focus we have here at Astares.

What is your favourite thing about working at Astares Menswear?

I think for me, the ongoing pleasure of running this business is seeing something that was a dream of mine for so many years become a reality that other people are truly benefiting from. It’s a fantastic feeling.

What do you think makes Astares different for customers?

Astares is an experience, not just a necessary requirement. We put all our effort and expertise into helping customers find the perfect suit for them. Our private one to one appointment service allows us to solely concentrate on you. We like to understand the look you are going for, any colour requirements we need to take into consideration. We always aim for that “moment” with a suit, when the wearer emerges from the changing room and looks proud as punch, they found the suit.

What are your weaknesses?

I’m incredibly honest. That’s not to say I’m brutally honest but, I will diplomatically offer alternate suggestions if something isn’t perfect with the outfit. I also invest hugely into my appointments and having a chat so sometimes I have to keep an eye on the time so I don’t over run!

Tell us a little about yourself…

I’m the other company director here at Astares. I specifically work in the office and cover all the admin work for upcoming weddings.  I also have a public service background which I sidestep into if I get some free time. Jez and I are also a couple, that’s right, working and living together! At home, we have two pugs, Bertie and Queenie, who are our pride and joy.

What is your favourite thing about working at Astares Menswear?

I think for me, it’s being able to embrace the challenge of ever-changing fashion and demand. I love sourcing new suits and neckwear, looking at everything that is available and then selecting what Astares will stock.

What do you think makes Astares different for customers?

Jez and I invest in all our customers. We look at every customer individually. We take in to account so much more than just “ sell a suit” Personally I want to ensure we are not doing a dis service to customers with colour selection. I always like to understand the additional colours involved may they be bridesmaids’ dresses, flowers or your partners outfit.

What are your weaknesses?

I’m very direct. Something I’ve always been I’m afraid. My face always gives me away, so I don’t bother trying to hide the fact. I will always be honest and open with our customers and if you want an honest opinion on anything, I’m happy to give it.
